Yuhuan lies at the middle part of our eastern golden coast, opposite Wenzhou and Yandang Mountain. With rich sea tourist resources and strong fisherman folk culture, it can let you find unconventional modern buildings and varied folk arts and crafts in addition to beautiful seashore scenery and particular geological relief.
With “Sea Garden and Happy Yuhuan” as the strategic objective and creation of “recreational resort and happy Yuhuan” as the main line, Yuhuan speeded up its integration of tourist resources through development of scenic spots to form the tourist structure. For the time being the pattern oriented to agro- and eco-recreation had been brought into being in Yuhuan, including such scenic spots as Daludao Scenic Spot, Xuanmen Bay Agro-sightseeing Park, Nanpai Mountain Recreation Island, Famous Shaddock Park of the World and the like. In Yuhuan existed 7 star hotels with more than 2000 beds, and 12 travel services. In 2006 it received totally 1.8156 million tourists at home and abroad, 7% above that of last year, (including 15200 overseas tourists, 10% above that of last year), created 1.46 billion Yuan of total tourist revenue, 7% above that of last year, and earned 5.7544 million US dollars of foreign exchange income, 10% beyond that of last year.
Daludao Scenic Spot
Located in the southeast sea area of Zhejiang, Daludao Scenic Spot is 6 sea miles to the mainland, with total area of 1.75 square kilometers. Tradition has it that a magic deer in the palace of heaven was thrown into the East Sea because it secretly dredged the fairy fruits in the world. After it fell into the sea, it became a, isolated deer-like island. As a forest park of provincial level as well as one of the top 10 scenic spots in Taizhou, Daludao Scenic Spot has all along been called “Jasper of East Sea” and “Island of Forest Art” for its sea forest, fantastic rocks and reefs, and rock carving. Professor Hong Shiqing, from China College of Fine Arts, has once completed nearly one hundred pieces of works appraised highly by numerous artists at home and abroad. In addition to rock carving, there are still petroglyphs by Liu Haili, Zhu Qizhan, Sha Menghai and other famed artists on this island.
Yuhuan Xuanmen Bay Agro-sightseeing Park
As a green window of Yuhuan in building an ecological demonstration zone, Yuhuan Xuanmen Bay Agro-sightseeing Park is located at the central belt of Yuhuan and Wenling, bordering Leqing Bay on the west, opposite Yandang Mountain. Divided into 7 functional zones, it had successively undertook such two construction projects as modern agriculture from the state and eco-agriculture from Zhejiang Committee of Development and Reform. Construction of several years brought it 13 scenic spots including Shennong Square, Choice Orchard, Water Garden and Cognition Garden, which have brought into effect the organic combination of agriculture, sightseeing and recreation. It has successively been conferred such titles as the demonstration base of national level in agro-science popularization, AAA-class tourist areas and the demonstration spot of the country for agricultural tourism.
